Expected Installation Time: 5 to 15 minutes depending on your experience.
Make sure your Yeti Tumbler is clean. Any dirt or dust will show as bumps under the skin.
You will need a striaght line on your tumbler to help align the skin properly on the top portion of the tumbler.
Turn the tumbler upside down on the table. Using a square
if available or the skin sheet as pictured, draw a line back side of the top of the cup opposite the embosed logo on the tumbler. With a pencil draw a line on the center of the tumbler.
Remove the top skin from the sheet and align it with the pencil line as shown. For the Yeti 30oz Tumbler the skin should be about 1 inch from the top of the tumbler.
Once aligned slowly wrap the skin around the tumbler. Do not press it down too tight yet at first. Make sure the skin wraps around and the edges of the skin meet on the back side
as shown in the picture. If the ends of the skin do not line up you can peel it off and try again.
Once you have the skin in place and properly aligned move the next step.
Start in the front of the tumbler in the middle of the skin. Using your finger slowly rub the skin firmly onto the tumbler moving your finger or thumb in the direction of the arrows.
Work your way from the front of the tumbler to the back and then repeat on the other half of the tumbler.
Now remove the lower part of the skin from the sheet. No pencil line necessary for this piece.
Start at the back of the tumbler, align the vertical edge of the skin with the top skin seam.
Align the bottom edge of the skin to the seam towards the bottom of the tumbler.
Repeat steps 4 and 5 for the this piece of the skin.
One more piece of the skin left. It's a narrow stip that that can be placed around the very bottom of the tumbler.
Some people like the look of the skin using this piece, some prefer not to use it.
Repeat the step above to apply this last piece. If you decide it's not to your liking you can peel it off at any time.
The final step. With the skin in place and any large air bubbles or wrinkles worked out it's time to heat the skin and firmly press it onto the tumbler.
Using a heat gun or hair dryer on low heat, heat small sections of the skin. Then with your finger firmly press the skin against the tumbler. Work your way around until you have done the entire skin. Make sure to go over the embossed logo on the tumbler a few times.
The heat will help activate the adhesive so it sticks better to the tumbler. Even though it will stick very tightly you can still peel it off at any time. It will also help the skin conform to and curves and smooth out small air bubbles and wrinkles.
